What is used to do Permanent Makeup?
Permanent cosmetic procedures are performed using various devices. It depends on the style of permanent makeup you choose.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually, no more than one session is needed. We offer a free touch up within the first 3 months after your initial procedure. In addition, a follow-up appointment is normally scheduled for two to eight weeks, depending on the age of the client to determine how the eyeliner procedure healed and if any further work is needed.
Is it painful?
Most people experience some discomfort. This will differ from client to client depending on their pain threshold. Here at New U, we use a topical numbing solution.
Is Permanent Makeup safe?
If proper sterilization and disinfection guidelines are met, permanent cosmetics should be completely safe.
All needles are new and sterile for each client.
Disposable sterilized one-time use machine parts are disposed of in a sharps container immediately after the procedure has been completed.
What is the difference between Permanent Makeup and Tattooing?
Permanent makeup is a much gentler form of tattooing, permanent makeup penetrates into the dermis and sometimes even to the subcutis, the difference between semi-permanent and permanent makeup is the depth of the penetration of the skin. As mentioned before, human skin composes of three distinct layers, with the epidermis being the outermost layer. Semi-permanent makeup puts pigments in the epidermal area barely touching the dermis. Which means it will not last years (usually up to 18 months) but this does depend on the person’s skin type.
Although we call it permanent makeup it does not truly last forever, as the machine with which permanent make up is done with is normally a rotary machine this can be used to do tattoos as well but as it is a gentler machine is seldom used for tattooing. The inks are different in fact are not called inks but pigments, and in texture are a lot thicker. The needles also tend to be finer and because of all these variables permanent makeup can never truly be permanent as the pores on the face are very small so the pigment struggles to be able to go any further into the skin than the dermis. It does, however, last longer than semi-permanent makes up. Permanent makeup lasts between 5 and 7 years again depending on a person skin type.
Here at New U we are all about caring for our clients’ health and beauty needs. We will provide unique, all-natural treatments in a truly inviting and relaxing setting supported by unpretentious service.
